1. Cefixime 400 mg capsules  orally 1 x1
2. Advil cold and sinus 1- 2 caplets every 4 to 6 hours

If there are excessive secretions and sneezing   add:

• Aerius 5mg orally once a day

Therapeutic indication and dose :

Acute Exacerbations of Chronic Bronchitis

• 400 mg/day PO in single daily dose or divided q12hr

Otitis Media

400 mg/day PO in single daily dose or divided q12hr

Pharyngitis/Tonsillitis

• 400 mg/day PO in single daily dose or divided q12hr

Uncomplicated Gonorrhea

• 400 mg PO once plus azithromycin 1 g PO once (preferred) or alternatively doxycycline 100 mg PO q12hr for 7 days

Uncomplicated Urinary Tract Infections

• 400 mg/day PO in single daily dose or divided q12hr

Typhoid Fever (Off-label)

• 15-20 mg/kg/day; not to exceed 100-200 mg BID x 7-14 days 

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to cephalosporin

Pregnancy and lactation: 

• Cefixime should not be used in pregnancy or in nursing mothers unless considered essential by the physician.

Product Description:

Indications:

• Fast, temporary relief of the symptoms of colds including sore throat pain, sinus pain, nasal congestion, headache, fever, body aches and pains.

Dose:

Adults under 65 years and children over 12:

• 1 or 2 caplets every 4 to 6 hours as needed.
• not more six caplets in 24 hours
• not given to children under 12.
• not used longer than 3 days for a fever or 5 days for pain or cold symptoms.

• The recommended dose is 5 ml (one 5 ml spoonful) of oral solution once a day.

  Adults and adolescents 12 years of age and over:

• The recommended dose is 10 ml (two 5 ml spoonfuls) of oral solution once a day.
• one tablet once a day.

Pregnancy, breast feeding 

• Taking Desloratadine is not recommended in pregnancy or nursing a baby
