1. Cefaclor 250-500 mg capsules  orally 1 x3 x10
2. Panadol ActiFast 2 tablets up to 4 times daily

If there are excessive secretions and sneezing   add:

• Loratan 10mg tab orally once a day

 If there is nasal obstruction add :

• Rinomest 6.5mg/ml spray 1puff 4-6 times daily

Therapeutic indication and dose :

Lower Respiratory Tract Infections

• Capsules: 250-500 mg PO q8hr

Otitis Media

• Capsules: 250-500 mg PO q8hr

Uncomplicated Skin and Skin Structure Infections

• Capsules: 250-500 mg PO q8hr
• Extended-release tablets: 375 mg PO q12hr for 7-10 days

Urinary Tract Infections

• Capsules: 250-500 mg PO q8hr

Bronchitis

• Extended-release tablets: 500 mg PO q12hr for 7 days

Pharyngitis and Tonsillitis

• Capsules: 250-500 mg PO q8hr
• Extended-release tablets: 750 mg PO q12hr for 10 days 

Contraindication: Hypersensitivity to cephalosporin. 

Pregnancy and Breast-feeding

• Small amounts of cefaclor have been detected in breast milk following of single 500mg doses. 
• Caution should be exercised when prescribing for the pregnant patient. 

Side effects:

• Diarrhea, Nausea and vomiting
• Colitis, including rare instances of pseudomembranous colitis
• Hypersensitivity, pruritus and urticaria

Panadol ActiFast Product Description:

• Panadol ActiFast is a fast effective pain and is gentle on the stomach.
• Panadol ActiFast is a pain reliever that is absorbed twice as fast as regular paracetamol.
• Panadol ActiFast is effective for the relief of fever and the treatment of mild to moderate pain including headache, migraine, rheumatic and muscular pain, period pain, pain of osteoarthritis, toothache, pain following dental procedures/tooth extraction, and pain after vaccination.

What is Paracetamol used for :

Paracetamol is a medication that is used for the relief of the following indications:

• Headache
• Period pain
• Backache
• Rheumatic pain (joints pain)
• Cold and flu
• Sore throat
• Mild arthritis pain (joints pain)
• Muscle Pain
• Toothache
• Fever

Contraindication:

• In  allergy to Paracetamol, or any of the ingredients in this medicine.

Loratadine

Indications:

• Relief of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, nasal discharge (rhinorrhea) as well as ocular itching and burning.
• indicated for the relief of symptoms and signs of chronic urticaria and other allergic dermatologic disorders.

Dose:

• Adults and children 6 years and older who weigh more than 30kg : 1 x tablet once daily
• Adults and children over 12 years of age: 2 teaspoons (10 ml), once a day, with or without food.
• The dosage for children aged 2-12 is by weight:
• Body weight over 30 kg: 2 teaspoons (10 ml), once a day, with or without food.
• Body weight of 30 kg or less: one teaspoon (5 ml), once a day, with or without food.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding :

As a precautionary measure, it is preferable to avoid the use of Loratadine Tablets during pregnancy. Loratadine is excreted in breast milk so preferable to avoid the use in lactation
